Oasis for Girls is currently recruiting experienced and highly motivated individuals to contribute to our mission as members of our Advisory Board. This board plays a critical role in the organization's governance, fundraising, and financial oversight. The Cause

Oasis For Girls partners with young girls of color, aged 14-18, from under-resourced communities in San Francisco to cultivate the skills, knowledge, and confidence to discover their dreams and build strong futures. Our intensive after school programming focuses on academic and career exploration, creative arts, and social justice. All programs are culturally relevant and gender-specific to empower girls and build sisterhood through shared experiences.

The Opportunity

Oasis For Girls is looking for experienced and motivated women to be part of our Advisory Board! The Advisory Board provides critical leadership and oversight of the organization in governance, fundraising, and finance.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are representative of the girls we serve

  • Have significant experience and skillsets (or the desire to learn) in any of these areas: fundraising, finance, governance, human resources, marketing, communications, event planning, and non-profit

  • Share our passion for women's issues and social justice work

  • Have a significant network in San Francisco (Bay Area) that can contribute time, talent, and treasure

  • Have experience in the development of fundraising plans (or the desire to learn) and the ability to monitor the organization's progress toward achieving established goals

  • Have non-profit board service experience (not required)

The Commitment

We ask that you:

  • Dedicate to a two (2) year board term

  • Donate OR fundraise annually (we will support you with this!)

  • Attend 80% of meetings

  • Dedicate 12-15 hours/month (serve on a committee, special assignments, etc.)

  • Be aligned with, knowledgeable, and passionate about the organization's mission, vision, values
